Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM)?

An EMJM is an international programme of excellence funded by the European Union and taught jointly by several universities in different countries. It includes compulsory mobility, international internships and the award of a joint degree or multiple official degrees depending on the consortium.

What degree will I receive upon completion of INPECA?

You will receive an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree signed by the three universities in the consortium. This degree is recognised in all EU countries and is internationally valid.

What type of mobility is compulsory?

All students must study in at least two countries other than their country of residence at the time of initial enrolment, in accordance with EMJM regulations.

The standard mobility for the INPECA programme is:

  • Semester 1: Spain

  • Semester 2: Croatia

  • Semester 3: Cyprus

  • Semester 4: Clinical placements/Thesis (in one of the three countries)

Do I need to speak Spanish, Croatian or Greek?

No. The programme is taught entirely in English.

Free local language courses (Spanish or Greek) are offered to facilitate cultural integration, but they are not compulsory.

Can I apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship?

Yes. Each year, the consortium selects several students for full EMJM scholarships, which cover fees, medical insurance and provide a monthly stipend for 24 months. Selection is competitive and based on academic merit, motivation and professional experience.

How much does the program cost if I do not obtain a scholarship?

Self-funded candidates must pay the annual program fees. These fees cover participation in all compulsory modules, but do not cover accommodation, living expenses, travel or visas.

Can I work while studying for my master's degree?

It depends on your country of residence and visa regulations.

However, due to the academic workload, mobility and clinical placements, working full-time is not recommended. Occasional work may be possible depending on local laws.

What documents do I need for the application?

Generally:

  • Nursing degree.

  • English language certificate (level B2 or higher).

  • Transcript of records.

  • CV (Europass recommended).

  • Letter of motivation.

  • Letters of recommendation.

  • Valid passport.

  • Official translations into English, if applicable.

Can I apply if I have not yet completed my nursing degree?

Yes. You can apply by indicating that you are in your final year and attaching a provisional certificate. Final admission will depend on obtaining the degree before the start of the master's programme.

Is previous professional experience required?

It is not mandatory, but it is valued positively, especially if it is related to intensive care, perioperative care, anaesthesia, emergency care or related areas.

How are clinical placements organised?

Placements are carried out in partner hospitals in Spain, Greece or Cyprus during the fourth semester. The consortium assigns centres based on availability, the student's profile and the lines of research of the Master's Thesis.

Can I complete my Master's Thesis in a country other than those in the consortium?

Yes, provided that there is a formal agreement, supervision is guaranteed, and the Academic Committee approves the destination.

What is the workload like for the master's degree?

The master's degree is worth 120 ECTS credits, which is equivalent to a full-time job:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week, including classes, independent study, practical training and preparation of the Master's Thesis.

What career opportunities do I have after graduation?

INPECA graduates work in:

  • Adult, paediatric and neonatal ICUs.

  • Anaesthesia and resuscitation services.

  • Surgical and perioperative teams.

  • Healthcare management and care coordination.

  • Clinical and academic research.

  • International health cooperation.

  • Doctoral programmes in Europe and beyond.
